Graduate Profiles

A graduate profile describes the knowledge, practical abilities, way of thinking and professional settings for which each programme prepares its students.

Bachelor's programmes

Foundations of Christian Philosophy and Catholic Theology

Graduates acquire a foundation in philosophy, theology and the Christian intellectual tradition. They can interpret academic sources, analyse arguments and place philosophical and theological questions in historical, systematic, ethical and social contexts. The programme prepares them for further study and for academic, pastoral, cultural, educational or social settings requiring critical thought and sensitivity to spiritual and value questions.

Counseling

Graduates are prepared for entry-level professional work in social services and basic social counseling. They learn to understand a client's situation, conduct a helping conversation, identify needs, resources and risks, work within ethical and organisational frameworks and cooperate with interdisciplinary teams. Potential settings include social, community, charitable, support and counseling organisations.

Religious and Cultural Mediation

Graduates can analyse conflict in its religious, cultural, social and value contexts and support dialogue between people or groups. They develop competencies in communication, facilitation, conflict dynamics, ethical responsibility and work with difference. The programme supports work in communities, education, culture, non-profit organisations, public administration, human resources and international projects.

Important: completion of the programme alone does not grant authorisation to practise as a mediator registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic; that authorisation is governed by separate legal requirements.

Master's programme

Catholic Theology

Graduates develop advanced knowledge of biblical, historical, systematic and practical theology. They can interpret sources, formulate theological positions in dialogue with contemporary questions and communicate theological knowledge to different audiences. The programme supports work in ecclesial, pastoral, educational, cultural and research settings and provides a basis for doctoral study.

Doctoral programme

Catholic Theology

Graduates are prepared for independent research, teaching and specialist work in theology. They can formulate research questions, select appropriate methods, develop new knowledge and interpret findings in academic, ethical, pastoral and social contexts. Career paths include research, higher education and expert or leadership roles in academic, ecclesial, educational and research institutions.
