New issue of the academic journal
A new issue of the peer-reviewed academic journal Studia Aloisiana, published by the Faculty of Theology at Trnava University, is now available.

A question before an answer: mediating polarisation in LGBTQ+ topics

The study examines LGBTQ+ topics as an area in which polarisation is particularly visible in the Slovak Catholic environment. It develops a theology of listening and a mediating approach that makes disagreement possible without turning difference into hostility or harming the dignity of those taking part in the conversation.

The author traces the history of the idea of the university and its relationship to the philosophical concepts of idea and ideal. The university is presented not only as an educational institution but also as a spiritual and social project whose identity grows from a community of teachers and students seeking truth and knowledge.
The mask and identity crisis from a transcultural perspective
František Burda
The study analyses the relationship between the phenomenon of the mask and the inner tension described as an identity crisis. Through phenomenological analysis, it explores disclosure and concealment, unity and plurality and the transcultural potential of the relationship between identity and mask.

The essay presents synodality as a way of life for the Church grounded in prayer, listening, discernment and a shared search. It shows how this approach can take concrete form in small communities and transform their everyday relationships.
